La perversión de la Spanish Doll

En Musical Dancing Spanish Dolls al espectador le toma siempre más de un minuto percatarse que, entre las muñequitas bailadoras que se contorsionan ante la cámara, se inserta también la figura de carne y hueso de la artista, perdida en su propia sensualidad. Finalmente, ha pasado a habitar el mundo de hechizo y fantasía del estereotipo, al que ha descendido miniaturizada, atrapada en el hechizo del cliché. La imagen sugiere con toda elocuencia el significado de la noción de «intervención»: este entrar en el territorio de los signos, para insuflar lo aparentemente inerte con un nuevo poder de seducción.
In Musical Dancing Spanish Dolls the viewer always takes more than a minute to notice that, among the dancing marionettes contorting themselves in front of the camera, the artist, in the flesh, has been placed among them, lost in her own sensuality. Finally, she has moved on to inhabit the world of spells and fantasy of the stereotype, to which she has descended in miniaturised form, trapped in the spell of the cliché. The image eloquently suggests the meaning of the notion of ‘intervention’: this entering of the territory of signs, in order to breath a new power of seduction into the seemingly inert.
